Birth of Sunayan Eye Clinic goes back a long way in late 90s and early this century. With a mission particularly dedicated towards treating eyesight at an affordable cost yet involving the latest and updated facilities, Dr B. K. Baidya and his wife IndraniBaidya laid the foundation of Sunayan Eye Clinic back in 2003.

The journey towards this destination as been uphill for Dr. Baidya who was practicing ophthalmology with restricted resources and limited space elsewhere. But the overwhelming response and steadily increasing number of patients compelled him to take a leap towards an institution which could accommodate not only more patients but also abreast to provide a better experience for each of them.

Overcoming various challenges that came in way of inception finally on 29th September 2003 Sunayan Eye Clinic was inaugurated by the PravrajikaAmalpranaMataji, secretary of Sri Sarada Math, Dakshineswar, and other respected Sanyasinsof the Math. With blessings from such eminent personalities and love of each patients Sunayan grew leaps and bounds establishing itself as a landmark for Eye treatment in South Bengal.

Responsibility towards the society has been one of the founding stones of this organization. Sunayan has extended its arms over the years in various Social services both within and outside the walls of the institute. Here enormous number of patients every year are treated at a subsidized rates and substantial cases are treated for free as well. Also, donations and support extends to schools and NGOs. Scholarships to meritorious students who are economically underprivileged are given every year particularly in local girl’s Schools.
